Forsake Boot Review

Forsake Review

We recently returned from an adventure in China and are excited to share with you our most recent gear review: The Women’s Patch and Contour boot from Forsake. Though we have had these boots for about two months now and have tested them in the mountains of North Carolina, we decided to take them for the ultimate test overseas.

Caroline: The Patch is waterproof, triple-stitched in places for durability, and comes with two sets of laces (grey and ocean) for you to mix and match. The traction is superior. The lugs on this boot are grippy and functional. We took them on several hikes at home, the first of which was a four-miler that included crossing a stream to chase after our dogs and as promised, our feet stayed dry. I’ve had a recent ankle/metatarsal injury due to a biking accident with a vehicle and wearing the Patch has helped me to feel both supported and more relaxed while walking around town and on the trail. These boots feel streamlined and they feel good in my hands. Aesthetically, I like the color combination. It seems like other people do, too because I frequently get asked about them. I also appreciate their insulation – they stood up to 20 and 30 degree days in Beijing. By mid-afternoon on some days, they were the only part of my body that was still warm.

Erin: I was immediately drawn to the Contour because it looked cool. Then I found out it has a weather-resistant upper and I fell for it. Hard. It’s the perfect intersection of style and functionality. I’ve been known to carry a separate pair of shoes in my car to change into after hiking but I haven’t done that since I found the Contours. Technically, it’s a slip-on boot. Though I was drawn to the design I was a little skeptical that this boot would perform in the field but I was both surprised and thrilled to find that they surpassed my expectations (read: no blisters, no chafing, great grip on wet surfaces) given that they were lacking a traditional lacing system but they passed the test every single time. Due to their versatility, they made the trek with me to China because I knew I would only have to pack one pair of footwear instead of two.
If you’re looking to get into a pair of these boots, you can find online at www.forsake.com, on IG at @forsakeco and twitter @forsakeco. They make both men’s and women’s models and are currently running a promo through December 20th where if you order a pair of boots you can also get a free Forsake embossed slim wallet.
