Located on San Juan Island off the Washington Coast is a place called Aurora Farms. We recently went there to field scout for Hipcamp and had a blast! There’s a yurt on the property, a succulent garden, an Airstream, a house with a living roof and even a farm store. Scroll down to see what we saw!
You know how we love yurts … this is glamping at its best!
How sweet is the interior? It sleeps four …
The photos above are part of the succulent garden. There’s also a shower in this space! Too cool…I just love the shape of the door. It just felt good to be in that space. The inside of this building also houses a kitchen that guests can use.
When we were building the tiny home in Asheville, we originally wanted a living roof. It ended up not being in our budget but we still get a kick out of seeing them in real life. They were pretty common in the PNW (did you see our tree house posts?!) and have us hoping for the day we can make our dream a reality.
This here is the barn. The pigs and goats hung out to the right. Come on in!
Totally fell in love with these little (big?) guys.
And believe it or not, this is the upstairs of the barn!
There’s a ton of space on the property for people to go camping! Check out this little island!

And last but not least, Lori Ann, the host, hopes to soon convert this newly acquired Airstream into guest housing! We can’t think of a more perfect place to crash.
Want to stay at Aurora Farms?! Press here to book! (Be sure to book a ferry reservation as well unless you have your own sea plane or boat.)
Have you been to the San Juans?! What did you think?
Oh and if you’re in that necks, be sure to save some time for Seattle!
