It’s a well-known fact that Asheville has some of the best places to eat in western North Carolina and, some would argue, in the entire country. We’ve got craft breweries by the dozen and pretty much any and every type of cuisine you can think about. And though it’d be hard to run out of dining or drinking options, if you’re visiting Weaverville, a short drive north of Asheville, there’s no reason to rush back. This cute little town has plenty of places to grab a beer or a bite. Keep reading to see our favorite and best places to eat in Weaverville, NC.

Soba Sushi and Noodle House | 76 Main Street
If you’re craving sushi or a bowl of noodles or rice, you must try the food at Soba Sushi and Noodle in Weaverville. We love their seaweed salad as an appetizer. As for the sushi, you can’t go wrong with their California Rolls, Rainbow Rolls and Tiger Rolls (pictured above). The fish is super fresh and high quality. It’s easily one of the best restaurants in Weaverville. If you’re not a big fan of sushi, they also have numerous noodle and rice dishes on the menu.
Glass Onion | 18 North Main Street
The chefs and owners of the Glass Onion, Natalie and Eddie, opened the Glass Onion in 2012 and have been one of the go-to restaurants in Weaverville. They serve up fresh, high-quality Italian food for brunch, lunch, dinner and even takeout. It’s a great spot for a date. Reservations are recommended for Friday and Saturday night. You can make them online via OpenTable. We recommend starting with one of their salads made with fresh, local greens and then moving on to their eggplant parmesan. For those of you who love noodles but need a gluten-free option, you’re in luck! The Glass Onion has a gluten-free pasta that you can substitute for a small up-charge. Oh and be sure to save room for dessert.
Blue Mountain Pizza | 55 North Main Street
Weaverville is a small town BUT, thanks to Blue Mountain Pizza, it has live music every night of the week from 7-9 pm. Check their calendar to see who’s playing or if there’s an open mic. In addition to the music, you can also enjoy a variety of pizzas, local craft beers, salads, sandwiches, wraps and even quesadillas and pastas. For those of you that just want a snack, you can also order a single slice. We opted for a cheese pizza, half with cheese, half with mushrooms. It was hot, tasty and delicious. Plus, the service is super friendly.
B’aad Sheep Burritos | 11 Florida Ave (at Eluvium Brewing)
B’aad Sheep Burritos is currently building out a space on Florida Avenue, right next to Eluvium Brewing which will mean that soon you can get their food any time you like rather than waiting for their food truck to show up. In the mean time, you can find out when they’ll be parked in town by checking out their Facebook page. (They’re often there on Friday’s and Saturday’s). The California Burrito is super popular (it’s a burrito packed with carne asada, french fries, guacamole, pico de gallo, cheddar jack, lettuce, sour cream and cilantro avocado cream sauce) but honestly you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. If you want something a little lighter or less filling, you can opt for one of their a la carte taco options where you pick your protein or a bowl which comes in two sizes, small or large.
Main Street Grill | 5 South Main Street
If you happen to be walking along Main Street and you catch a whiff of something that smells like a mouth-watering burger, it’s probably coming from the Main Street Grill. It’s stopped us in our tracks more than once. They’ve got, hands-down, the best burger in town and almost everything they make is made from scratch. We like the ‘Shroom Burger and the house cut fries which are nice and crispy. If you’re feeling super hungry, go for the Mountain Burger, it’s piled so tall with onion rings, bacon and cheddar you’ll have to do some gymnastics to get it in your mouth. Oh and keep an eye out for the specials because sometimes they’ll have a soft shell crab on the menu.
Chapala Mexican Restaurant | 113 Weaver Boulevard, Ste. 12
If you are looking for a delicious meal at an affordable price, head on over to Chapala Mexican Restaurant. They’ve got numerous dishes to choose from, many of which are under $10.00. Not only are the prices great, but the portions are, too. They’re huge! We recommend checking out their specials before ordering and when in doubt, go for the burritos and enchiladas. The chipotle burrito pictured above has an incredible smokey flavor and it is HUGE. We also really love their sizzling steak fajitas or the taco and enchilada combo that comes with your choice of rice or beans. This is hands-down one of the best restaurants in Weaverville, NC.
Stoney Knob Cafe | 337 Merrimon Avenue
The Stoney Knob Cafe shows up regularly in the local paper, the Mountain Xpress, as part of their yearly “Best of” awards. In 2019 they took second place in the Greek restaurant category. They’re open for lunch and dinner every night of the week as well as Sunday brunch. Sunday brunch features Bloody Mary’s, bellinis and sparkling mimosas. The Stoney Knob Bloody Mary is their Signature Bloody Mary and it’s made with Absolut Peppar Vodka and garnished with
a piece of thick cut bacon. If that’s not enough to pique your interest, they often have daily specials that range from lobster bisque to roast beef paninis to fresh wild striped sea bass. Lastly, Stoney Knob Cafe has a bunch of vegetarian items as well as some gluten free options.
Twisted Laurel | 10A South Main Street
Some of you will recognize the name of this restaurant, the Twisted Laurel, because there’s another one in downtown Asheville. They have a bunch of steak and seafood options as well as stone hearth pizzas. The Twisted Laurel does a great job with specials: Sunday Funday means there’s a special on Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas. On Monday’s kids eat free with the purchase of a full-priced entree. On Wednesday’s you play trivia and get $2 off all of their premium whiskeys. Thursday is pint night and that means you can get $4 draft beers of their featured Brewery of the Month. With the purchase of a beer you’ll get a free pint glass.
Allgood Coffee | 10 North Main Street
This cute little coffee shop in downtown Weaverville is a great place to stop for well, coffee! They have a great selection of local roasters including Summitt Coffee, Mountain Air Roasting, Dynamite Roasting and Cooperative Coffee Roasting. In addition to coffee, they also serve espresso, tea, lattes and some sweet treats. The space is fun and makes a great spot for hanging out for an hour or two with a book or a friend. They have local arts and crafts on display and for sale. If you’re like us, your eye will be drawn to the piano in the room. It’s more than just a fancy decoration though as Allgood regularly has live music! Check their facebook page to see upcoming events.
Well-Bred Bakery | 26 North Main Street
This cute little cafe and bakery is easily one of the best places to eat in Weaverville. They’ve got everything from sandwiches, soups, quiche and casseroles to baked goodies like cookies, pastries, bars and even cake and pie slices. In addition to their indoor seating there are also a few outdoor tables that make a nice spot for catching up with a friend or reading a book in the sun. Oh and they also sell dog biscuits in case you want to spoil your pup.
