A group of runners crouches, kneels, and stands in various positions in a parking lot. Behind them is a colorful mural with a sun, green hills, a rainbow, trees, and people of all skin tones doing outdoor activities. Erin McGrady and Caroline Whatley are holding an LGBTQ flag. People have joy on their faces.
Asheville Run Crew!

Inspired by Prolyfyck Run Crew out of Charlottesville, Virginia, in the summer of 2022, Erin started a safe space run club in Asheville. The group started with just a few people and grew to about 10 who met each Friday morning at a different location around Asheville. Over time, it became too good of a thing to keep to ourselves so we opened it up to the community. The first community run took place on February 25th, 2023 and there were about 55 people, runners and walkers, in attendance!

The next Asheville BIPOC+LGBTQ+Ally 5K Run and Walk is Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 8:30am. Location TBD.

Walkers are welcome and will have their own separate route that meets back up with the runners. There is always a group photo at the end because representation matters!

This is not a race nor a competition. It’s about building community and sharing space and time together.

Sorry, no dogs allowed.

Participation is FREE, a waiver is required for all Asheville Run Crew participants.
There is a waiver for Adults and one for those 18 and Under. The same waiver is used for runners and walkers.

Please send all waivers back electronically to or bring it with you on the day of the event.
